Pottery Class: Throwing Wheel for Beginners
This workshop offers an introduction into the three main steps of creating your own ceramic piece on the throwing wheel. Within three sessions over a period of two weeks I will teach you everything you need to know.
1. Session: Tuesday 6-9:30pm
Short introduction into the world of clay, followed by a demonstration of how to prepare and center the clay on the wheel as well as how to create a vessel. The first time on the wheel can be challenging and that's why this will be the longest session we will have together (3,5hours). This way I would like to make sure you won't rush and can take your time to get used to the material.
2. Session: Wednesday 7-9:30pm
This day will be all about trimming the pieces you created the day before (approximately 3-6 pieces).
3. Session: Wednesday 7-9pm
One week later we will glaze your pieces together using different techniques.
Once your pieces are fired, you will be able to pick them up in the studio during the open studio times on Thursdays.
Minimum number of participants in order for the class to take place is three.
